Gentle Yoga (Beginners Yoga)

Yin Yoga (Quiet Yoga)

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

All classes offered at The Yoga Studio are open sessions, meaning that students collectively decide what they want to practice each day. Although Yoga styles vary, learning to relax into the positions is a key component of each style. All ages are welcome!

Please check our Class Schedule page, as we occasionally rotate the Yoga Styles we offer.

During a Bikram class the studio is heated to 87 degrees. Students flow through a set series of Yoga positions that are repeated and held for a set period of time. Rests are incorporated during the second half of class. The heat helps to safely detoxify the body as you move through the series. Bikram classes are 2 hours.

As the name implies, Gentle Yoga is for the novice. Students learn how to destress, breathe more fully, and begin to stretch areas of the body that have not done so in a while. This style also improves flexibility and overall strength.

Yin Yoga focuses on folks over age 40. It incorporates fewer positions held for longer periods of time, allowing the body more time to fully relax and let go of tension. Most poses are held while lying on the floor (not standing), so balance is not a great issue.

Vinyasa Flow is an aerobic style of Yoga practiced with constant movement. Many poses are done standing, requiring a good sense of balance. This class can be difficult for novices, but it is an excellent style for those seeking a challenge.
